A 72 year old woman, Daljinder Kaur has delivered her first baby at Hisar-based fertility center after 46 years of her marriage. Mohinder Singh Gill (79) and Daljinder Kaur were trying for baby since long, but they didn’t get success in it. So they decided to try IVF process about three years ago. They experienced two failed attempts of IVF, but in third attempt, Dalijinder succeed and conceived. Both the mother and baby boy are healthy.

However, in the 2nd story, the use of ART to conceive at any age beyond 50, is to be condemned. It is against the guidelines. Why? Because, when the child reaches the age of 18 -20, he or she will need his/her parents the most. The child then, will need them for social security and support. And at this time, the parents will have aged and their sources of income might have stopped. Hence, after the age of 50 the use of artificial reproductive technology (ART) is not advised.
